Don’t panic! Denver will conduct a full three minutes test of the outdoor warning siren system this Wednesday, May 9, at 11:00 a.m. This test is conducted annually in advance of tornado season.

As a reminder, if you hear outdoor warning sirens at any other time, seek shelter immediately. The best places to shelter during a tornado are indoors, in a basement or interior room, and away from windows.

If you are indoors and cannot hear the sirens, that is OK! Sirens are an outdoor warning system designed to alert those who are outside that they need to seek shelter.
